Elisabeth Wolf Biography

Elisabeth Wolf is a Belgian composer, pianist. She is best known for her personal style. Her work consists mainly of piano compositions with elegant, expressive melodies. She combines unconventional harmonies and free forms, each time overflowing with a touch of romance.

Elisabeth Wolf was born on February 9th 1974. She was born in the rural village of Lubbeek. When Elisabeth started taking piano lessons at a young age, it soon became clear that her fingers were starting to live a life of their own. Instead of learning scales and sonatas, she created her own compositions over and over again. It was only after a performance at high school, where she played her first composition, that she was told she was talented. From that moment on, she was the only pupil who was given the key to one of the 'secret rooms' of the catholic sisters of the school, where a piano stood, to practice during breaks.

When Elisabeth was only fifteen, she already gave her first performance in Tel Aviv, Israel. A year later she played in Vera Cruz, Mexico. In the following years she gave several more performances at home and abroad.

Now, after a long break, she releases her first album: "Out of the blue”. The title refers to how her fingers on the piano lead a life of their own from which "out of the blue" a composition is created.
